Jūrmala

Jūrmala is a resort town located only 20 km from Riga, the capital of Latvia. Jūrmala is famous for its health resorts and beaches, fine white sand and well-developed infrastructure.

Jūrmala features a number of SPAs, groomed sand beaches, ancient pine forests, neat small houses and lovely cafes.

During Soviet Latvia times Jūrmala was a favourite place of recreation for visitors from very diverse backgrounds - government officials, artistic bohemia and everyday citizens - wishing to spend their vacation in peace and the healing seaside air.
