Purchase of real estate in the City of Riga, Riga Planning Region and in cities of republican significance at a price not less than LVL 100,000 (EUR 142, 000), but in other regions of Latvia at a price not less than LVL 50,000 (EUR 71,000) provided that the following criteria are met:
- absence of real property tax debts;
- the transaction amount is made from a bank account to another bank account;
- the real property is purchased from a legal entity registered in the Republic of Latvia or a natural person, who is a resident of Latvia, a citizen of the European Union or a foreigner who is living in Latvia on the basis of a valid residence permit;
- the total cadastral value of real properties purchased in the City of Riga, Riga Planning Region and in cities of republican significance on the date of purchase thereof has been at least 30,000 LVL (42,000 EUR), or the total cadastral value of real properties purchased outside the City of Riga, Riga Planning Region and cities of republican significance on the date of purchase thereof has been at least 10,000 LVL (14,000 EUR). If the cadastral value of the real properties is less than the above-mentioned amounts, it is necessary to present an opinion of a certified valuator that confirms that the total market value of the real properties is not less than the minimum purchase value of real properties laid down in the law. Temporary residence permit applies also to family members of the investor (spouse and their minor children).
