VIESTURDARZS

Do you like strolling along shady avenues? Tranquil Vesturdarzs Park, founded by Peter the Great, is a perfect place to enjoy some fresh air. This place literally breathes history. A memorial stone marks the spot where the first Russian emperor planted an elm with his own hands and a little further away there is a towering arch built in 1818 in commemoration of the great victory over Napoleon.

KRONVALDA PARK

In Kronvalda Park you can stubble upon a quaint little confectioner’s shop where you can enjoy a nice cup of coffee with a warm croissant in the morning while listening to birdsong amidst the century old trees. Come rain or shine, you can relax in the café by the canal and watch the ducks and beautiful wooden boats passing by. There are also fountains, pavilions and a wonderful rhododendron garden – perfect for those in search of a little peace and quiet. For those with an active lifestyle, this park offers cycle routes and open-air tennis courts in the very heart of the city.

ALBERTA STREET

Alberta Street embodies a certain beauty and stature. Over a hundred years ago it was a blank canvas for architects of the time to bring their boldest concepts to life. Today, thanks to their creations, the street has become a magnet for tourists from all over the world. During the annual city festival, many events take place here; taking visitors back in time to experience the atmosphere of the early XX century.

ANDREJSALA

The great wide world is just beyond your door! Residence Lumière is a stone’s throw from Andreiosta – Andrew’s Port – with the capital’s main yacht club where you can always find a place to moor your yacht. Just imagine a pleasant stroll amidst the Jugendstil architecture of the area before setting sail on your voyage.

DAUGAVA

For Riga, the Daugava is more than just a river. Many centuries ago, the history of the Latvian capital began on its very banks. Today, the promenade along the embankment is the city’s favourite place for a stroll. Come here to watch the luxury liners and sailing ships that often visit Riga Passenger Port and don’t miss the city festival with its numerous events and unforgettable atmosphere.

AUSEKLA STREET

Calm, elegant and stylish, Ausekla street boasts a unique atmosphere comprised of a beautiful alley, great examples of Art Nouveau architecture and quiet and dreamy feel. In the middle of the street there’s well-regarded Italian restaurant Portofino.
